Overview
Experienced support workers in Lichfield Your new company This local and well-established residential care home in the Lichfield area, are looking for experienced healthcare assistants or support workers to join their expanding team. This home largely focuses on providing support to their adult service users with challenging behaviour, dementia and physical difficulties. The home has recently been awarded 'Good' in their CQC Report which goes along with their excellent reputation not just locally but nationwide. They currently have 44 residents ranging from 65 and over. Residents diagnosis can range from elderly mentally ill, end of life and palliative care. They may also have stoma bags and catheters. All with a varied level of support required from nursing staff and support workers. They operate on a varied shift pattern, ranging from long days to waking nights. Your new role Within the role of a healthcare assistant you will support adults with physical disabilities, dementia and challenging behaviour. Supporting them to live and achieve as much of an independent lifestyle as possible. You will provide physical and emotional support and provide personal care of the highest standard. You will also be ensuring that respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times and have a person-centred approach to all you do. What you'll need to succeed To be suitable for this role you will need to have relevant and recent experience working with adults with Dementia and challenging behaviour within a residential or social care environment. You must ensure you have the ability to travel to Lichfield via your own transport as bus routes are very limited and are not located near the home. This home operates a varied shift pattern including week days, nights and weekends. You must be flexible to complete a mixture of shifts. Long days are 7am - 8pm and waking nights are 8pm - 8am. It is essential that you will be able to provide two relevant social care references, working a minimum of 6 months in the last two years, to meet our compliance requirements. Health and Social Care level 2 is desirable and experience in social care is essential. It is required that you have completed safeguarding and manual handling training and are comfortable using various different hoists.
