Job Type: Temp-Perm Pay Rate: £11-£12 The Recruitment Crowd are currently looking for an experienced Fabricator Welder on behalf of one of our well established, market leading clients to join their ever growing team. The Role: Working under the day to day control of the Operations Supervisor and the Sheet Metal Fabricator in conjunction with other team members. Will perform various engineering activities including Fabrication, assembly, install, and repair of sheet metal products and equipment. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut, bend, and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils, blocks, or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting, assembling, and smoothing seams and joints of burred surfaces. In conjunction with all team members, you will maintain a high level of housekeeping and build cleanliness, as well as, work to the companies Quality and Health & Safety policy & HR polices. Specific Duties: Manufacture & Install assemblies, such as high quality stainless steel canopies, duct work, service consoles etc. Must be able to tig weld stainless steel from .9mm 20gauge upwards and polish back to standard finish Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and portable power tools. Must have a good understanding of working from a 2d drawing. Inspect individual parts, assemblies, and installations for conformance to specifications. Determine project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, in accordance with engineering drawing and written or verbal instructions. Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material in accordance with engineering drawings or templates, using scribes, dividers, squares, and rulers. Competencies: Apprentice trained sheet metal worker Good engineering knowledge The ability to understand engineering drawings Physically fit and able to lift and move heavy packages and objects. Ability to follow processes and procedure accurately. A comprehensive understanding of safety procedures. Person Specification: A good team player. Willing to work overtime at short notice. Able to work shifts. Have a meticulous and efficient work ethic. Attention to detail.
