Overview
The Vacancy Connex Education require a teacher of Mathematics for a full-time and permanent position commencing in September 2020, at an 11-18 secondary academy of approximately 1,000 students, located a few miles east of Bristol city centre. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching Mathematics to Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE). The ability to teach Further Maths (A-level) may be an advantage. The School This co-educational academy became part of its multi-academy trust (MAT) in 2015. The 6th Form offering is combined with other schools within the trust. School buildings are a mixture of modern and traditional and departments are well equipped with up to date technologies. The school benefits from extensive outside space, including playing fields and all-weather sports pitches, a modern library and sports centre. Ofsted This school was last inspected in 2018 and was given a “required improvement” rating overall. This represented an improvement from the previous “inadequate” inspection received, prior to the school joining its multi-academy trust. Inspectors confirmed that sustained action had been taken to drive improvement and that the effective leadership and support was evident throughout the school. Student achievement is rising in many subjects and behaviour has improved, creating a much better climate for learning.
