Kitchen Assistant Vacancy St. Matthews Healthcare provides mental healthcare and rehabilitation services, supporting people to work towards living a fulfilling life as part of the community. We also provide residential care for older people and those with chronic mental health problems, supporting them live every day to the full. Are you looking for the next step in your culinary career? We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team here at St. Matthews Healthcare - Mapleleaf in Coventry. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Supporting excellent service delivery and the smooth running of the kitchen, as directed by the Head Chef. • Assisting with all aspects of day-to-day kitchen tasks, including food preparation / helping to prepare residents’ meals by washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking food / vegetables. • Keeping the kitchen clean and operational, ensuring the food preparation and storage areas conform to health, safety and hygiene regulations. • Cleaning utensils, cutlery, tableware and glassware, and storing them appropriately. We are looking for a permanent Kitchen Assistant. The hours to be worked are 30 hours per week, to be worked on a flexible pattern to meet the needs of the service, this includes weekends and bank holidays In return we can offer you; • Excellent rates of pay with an annual increase, • Ongoing training from our in-house and external training providers • Continued support and fantastic career development opportunities to progress within a forward thinking, modern health care provider.
