The Trust aims to engage and inspire people about woods and trees to help us meet our vision of creating, restoring and protecting woodland. THE ROLE Woodland Trust Legal Services is an in-house legal office of solicitors and legal executives that form part of the Woodland Trust’s Corporate Services team. We provide advice on a broad and diverse range of legal matters to a wide range of organisation stakeholders including our trustees, directors and officers of the Trust. Our work is interesting and rewarding offering experience in a broad range of legal areas and involvement in key and significant projects. We have a large estate which coves England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. We have the support of significant corporate sponsors. The Commercial Solicitor will manage a mixed caseload, providing strong legal support for the Trust and advising on matters relating to contractual, regulatory and commercial issues. This will include drafting, negotiating and advising on contractual documentation in relation to our funded projects and corporate sponsorship THE CANDIDATE You’ll have experience gained in house or in private practice, ideally with experience of the charity sector. With an understanding of the aims of the Woodland Trust, you’ll want to support us in achieving them through your role. With exceptional communication skills you’ll be pragmatic and in your approach to problem solving and be able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
