Stores / Stock Control / Inventory / Maintenance Person Full Time Permanent Portsmouth Hours 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Friday Pay Up to £30000 dependant on experience and maintenance skills Company Established over 70 years ago my client works from 3 different sites in the Hampshire area and specialises in Marine Engineering providing engineerinig fabrication and repair services to the civil engineering sector. This started as a small family run business but is now very well established with realistic predicted growth in all areas over the forthcoming months and years Role The role available is an exciting opportunity to join the Stores Team as a Stores / Stock Controller with Inventory Control and someone who also assists with basic maintenance on both electrical and mechanical equipment. The day to day duties will be based within the Stock Room in Portsmouth managing materials and stock levels, monitoring the requirements of consumables and PPE and issuing this as required to all staff and contractors. The business also have a number of assets which the successful candidates will be responsible for. Duties will include issuing these to staff and contractors on a loan basis, record keeping to ensure the equipment is traceable and returned as expected and chasing staff and contractors for its return when this is overdue. Another side of this unusual opportunity leans more towards basic maintenance of some of the hand held assets This could include servicing and repair of drills, grinders, welding equipment etc. Some knowledge in this area is essential and ideally this would be electrical knowledge, the company will pay for and cover all training to ensure you will hold the required qualifications to be allowed to do this but a basic knowledge in this area is definitely advantageous. Finally it will also be the responsibility of the successful candidate to ensure the workshop area is kept clean and tidy at all times and to ensure that it meets health and safety requirements.
