Overview

As a Technical Manager - Systems Architect, you will be responsible for leading the designing of large and complex military system architectures, building close working relationships with our customer communities, maintaining a thorough knowledge of market leading technologies and providing direction and support to development teams to produce new innovative products, solutions and services. Client Details The client, based in Christchurch, designs, manufactures, upgrades, and supports combat vehicles as well as partnering with academic and industrial leaders to develop new technologies to support future product strategies. They create more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. Description Your main responsibilities as a Technical Manager - Systems Architect will include: · Lead the designing of large complex systems and services · Building strong customer relationships · Decomposition of customer requirements into competitive architectures and bid proposals · Elaboration of high level architecture into low level subsystems, interfaces and behaviours · Managing a team of like-minded individuals · Awareness of competitors and their capabilities Profile You will manage a growing team, all with an underlying passion for technology and drive to continually learn, innovate and demonstrate their skills and abilities to all stakeholders. You will have a track record as a system designer, underpinned with practical hands on experience. You should have qualifications, skills or experience covering: · Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline · Tools for capturing systems and service architectures - MOOD, System Architect, Artisan · MoD platforms, programmes and projects - including MoD's Generic Vehicle Architecture · Integration of platforms, COTS equipment and software · Service management frameworks and tools - ITIL · Product safety, certification and legislative standards What we're looking for in you as a Technical Manager - Systems Architect: · Recent experience designing for military programmes · Management of design teams · Behaviours, such as Collaboration; Inspiration; Creativity · A network of contacts across industry · Professional registration, chartership or willingness to obtain Job Offer The role in defence and military will provide opportunities to travel both within the UK and abroad, and you will need to have or able to attain the required levels of security clearance for the role.
