Healthcare assistant/ Support Worker jobs available •Location: Gloucestershire •Pay rate: £8.21 per hour •Shift pattern: 5 days out of 7 Morning shift: 07:00am – 15:00pm Afternoon Shift: 15:00pm – 22:00pm Night Shift: 22:00pm – 07:00am Overtimes available Awake nights possible (sleeping at the care home – being on standby during the night) • Working hours: Minimum 37.5h hours per week / possibility to work in excess of 60 hours per week • Permanent Positions Gap Personnel who are operating as an employment business are currently recruiting for Support Workers to fulfil immediate vacancies on behalf of our prestigious client in Gloucester Job Description: You will be responsible for: Adults with Learning Disabilities / Challenging Behaviour / Physical Disabilities / Mental Health Aims, purpose and objectives of the role: To implement a Person Cantered Approach To safely promote and encourage the independence and choice of service users and ensure that their home environment is pleasant and safe To respect others dignity and treat them as individuals To support service users with their day to day care needs and activities To act with empathy towards our service users and show a level of understanding for their needs and issues To share with other staff in meeting the personal needs of service users in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence To keep our service users safe and free from harassment To ensure service users are actively involved in their community To offer choice and control in all areas of the client’s life Main Duties and responsibilities: To undertake the homes induction programme upon commencement of employment and to ensure your own understanding of the information provided To attend and undertake all training as required by the company to fulfil your role as a Support Care Worker To understand and implement Person Centred Plans for Service Users To ensure all service users receive and individual tailored service which best meets their unique needs and involve them in all aspects of their life To ensure you fully understand and comply with service users individual care plans and risk assessments To assist service users with personal care where required which may involve assistance with; Continence Requirement; Health and Medication requirements; Manual Handling; Eating and preparing meals; Handling personal possessions; finances and documents; entering the home, room, bathroom and toilet; shopping household activities to include cleaning To Facilitate ensuring Personal Care Provisions is in a safe and appropriate environment, where directed trough the care plan To promote effective communication and relationships with Service Users and work Colleagues and to be aware of communication differences and adopt and approach that minimises the effect of such differences To support service users in a safely accessing facilities and activities both within their home and in the community To support service users with mobility and physical disabilities assisting them with care aids and personal equipment such as manual / electric hoist’s slide sheets and standing frames (subject to staff receiving appropriate training e.g. PBM/ PBS To manage behaviours adhering to strategies and procedures set out for individuals with legislation To act as a key worker to individual service users and attend their review / service user meetings with external professionals To maintain records (e.g. care plans) where necessary, ensuring these are wholly accurate, up to date and completed in a timely manner To report to the Registered Manager any significant changes in the health or circumstances of a service users To comply with the homes guidelines policies and procedures at all times and to ensure that any potential hazards within the home are reported to appropriate person immediately To be familiar with the homes Whistle Blowing Policy and to use it in the event of any form of abuse occurring to any service user or staff member within the home To contribute towards the protection of individuals from abuse, adhering to the Protection of Vulnerable Adults legislation To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times, in keeping with the Data Protection Act (DPA) 1998 – ensuring that a Service users personal details are not disclosed to any unauthorised person and all records are maintained within the DPA 1998 requirements This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, the job holder may be required to undertake such other duties as Management may from time to time reasonably require Previous experience with Adults with Learning Disabilities / Challenging Behaviour / physical Disabilities / Mental Health is desirable but full training will be provided All Mandatory and induction training will be offered to the candidates Experience in a similar role is not essential as Free Training Courses will be provided (T&C apply) Job offer subject to skype interview directly with the client gap personnel group are are commited to the selection, recruitment and development of the best people, basing judgements solely on suitability for the job.
