Overview
Project engineer Weymouth Project Engineer needed for a multinational Defence organisation based in Weymouth. They're looking to employ an experienced Project Engineer who will be responsible for evaluating, justifying and implementing new equipment and software in a controlled manner, while at the same time providing support to the Production & Process Engineering teams where required. The successful Project Engineer will want to work for this client not just because it's a great opportunity but also because they will give you a wealth of benefits including: Competitive Salary 25 day's holiday Variable annual bonus Contributed pension Career Progression Life assurance And many more What the role entails: Some of the main duties of the Project Engineer will include: Assisting in the development & implementation of new processes, equipment & software Development of Capital Manufacturing Equipment justifications & proposals Lean & continuous improvement in both Engineering & Manufacturing areas On occasion, work alongside the nominated Production Engineer/Technicians as required; Review drawings & CAD Data and highlight and resolve any anomalies. Lead work transfers following applicable internal and customer processes Ability to provide engineering costs and timescale estimates to support bid and project activities Design/recommend and expedite any jigs, fixtures & tooling Lead work transfers following applicable internal and customer processes Ability to provide engineering costs and timescale estimates to support bid and project activities To be innovative in solving problems and be aware of relevant new technologies/processes The ability to communicate clearly on technical matters with both colleagues and customers Carry out other related tasks as specified by the Engineering Manager What you need to be the successful Project Engineer : In order to be the successful Project Engineer and have a chance to gain such an exciting opportunity you will ideally need to have the following: Qualified to Degree/HND level in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or associated technical discipline. IPC-A-610 - or equivalent (Desirable) Familiarity with the DMAIC process or Six Sigma Green Belt qualified (desirable). The ability to communicate clearly on technical matters with both colleagues and customers. Experience of working in safety critical environments to demanding standards such as AS9100 & Nadcap (desirable). A progressive track record within manufacturing & engineering environments (desirable). Experience of using Pareto, SPC, FMEA and Root Cause Analysis to improve quality, reduce costs and lead times. Computer literate using various packages e.g. Microsoft Office, AutoCAD & Solidworks Must be eligible for Security Clearance This really is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Engineer to progress their career.
