Role: Data Engineer Location : Tunbridge Wells, Kent Salary : £60,000 Benefits : 28 days holiday, benefits and discount on products Chances are you’re on a train whilst reading this, wishing you were already home. The person next to you is coughing. Face-mask blue clashes with your outfit, so you decided not to buy one. Why do you pay best part of £5k for the pleasure of this each year? Why do you travel into London when you could work closer to home? But you’ve got to do it right? After all, the ‘good’ employers are in town, and if you’re looking to progress your career, you need to be working for a decent employer. What if could, but do it locally instead? Just think how nice it will be to have that extra hour in bed and still get to work on time. To not get the underground and to not feel dirty every night you get in because of it. Still working for a reputable employer brand, in a team that’s entrepreneurial and consultative in approach, and somewhere which will give you big challenges and work with the latest Cloud technologies. Also wanting autonomy and the ability to shape ideas? The firm migrated to Azur last year, which has already given the ability to solve some business issues which couldn’t be done before, but there’s still more to do. End user needs are ever growing, and there is a big focus on data standardization across the company. So you will need to speak with stakeholders, understand the gaps, and revisit/reshape the model to better fit with their requirements. Now the capabilities are there, quality of action is critical. You will be joining a data division which has grown exponentially over the last 3 years in response to business need. The Data Engineering team is currently 5 people, but it’s a broader data team of 70 which includes Data Science, Data Management and Data Governance, primarily based out of the Tunbridge Wells offices. Must have experience of: Microsoft Azure and working with Hadoop Suite/Spark Advanced SQL Good knowledge of Azure Databricks Data Modelling Python Awareness of Data Management best practice You must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted – as this employer will not be able to provide sponsorship.
