Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who is fully proficient within the full product life cycle to join a design and manufacturing organisation who are dedicated to producing award-winning electro-mechanical instruments, with a heavy focus on research and development. Working within research & development and closely with the Project Manager, reporting to the R&D Director the successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be designing new instruments and developing existing product ranges, involved from concept through to final hand-over. This vacancy will also allow you to be involved across the business and in particular with R&D, production and drawing office teams. The ideal candidate for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer will have; Engineering Degree in relevant discipline (Masters or PhD advantageous as is CEng status) Familiar with thermal expansion, tolerance stack analysis, rapid prototyping or similar Experience in technologies such as; cooling technologies, optical measurement, infa-red sensing, control systems or similar Proficient in a 3D CAD package Having worked on precision engineered parts is important As the successful Mechanical Design Engineer you will be key in; Creating innovative designs and design for manufacture Multiple project design, development and introduction of new products Working in collaboration with multidisciplined teams and meeting project deadlines Developing design specs, project briefs and project plans to present to management This is a challenging and exciting role for those Mechanical Design Engineers who thrive on being creative and producing high quality engineered products.
