Overview

Badenoch Clark's Greater Manchester based client is currently recruiting for a 3rd Line Migration Engineer to support with a user migration project. Rates are fully negotiable dependent on experience and the initial contract will run for 3-6 months, starting ASAP. Our client is soon to gain several hundred new members of staff under their ownership due to a recent company merger. To support this, a user migration project is required to bring these new users over to our client's IT ownership and profile. The role on offer will play a key role in this project in leading on a number of technical requirements for this migration, such as image creation, application packaging, package testing and data migration. The key responsibilities for the role are: - Technical support and advice to the migration Project Manager. - Responsible for packing up applications to create an image that can be tested. - Supporting the testing process and resolving the issues identified in the package when tested. - Supporting the deployment of the image to users. - Undertaking the migration of data from the previous domain to the new domain - Create Active Directory groups to support distribution list requirements and shared drive/folder access requirements - Create any specific group policy settings, such as network printers, desktop shortcuts, drive mappings, etc From a technical perspective, applicants will ideally have the following technical skills: - SCCM ConfigMgr (Current Branch) - SCCM OSD (Task Sequence Modification, Driver Packages) - Application and Package Management, including arranging UAT and obtaining sign off - Active Directory - ADUC (user, computer and group administration), Sites and Services and Group Policy - File Share Administration (User data migration, Department data migrations) In addition to these technical requirements we are ideally searching for someone who can take a list of requirements and use the technologies above to create a solution to facilitate the migration from an external company to our client. You will have the support of our client's wider IT Department, but it is hoped that candidates will be able to undertake a number of these requirements autonomously and are able to complete the majority of the image creation, application packaging, testing and data migration tasks themselves, escalating where required. The onsite deployments and physical rollout will be undertaken by a different team of Engineers.
