Overview

Riverside are looking to recruit Relief Workers in Teesside, you will earn £9.30 per hour. Working as a Relief Worker you will need to be able to work flexibly and cover sickness and holidays on an as and when basis, including the possibility of night and weekend shifts. Who you’ll be helping Hardwick House is a supported accommodation project managed by Riverside Care and Support located in Middlesbrough. The project consists of 20 single self-contained flats, housing single ex Service veterans who were homeless or at risk of becoming rough sleepers. We provide accommodation on a short term basis (up to 18 months) and help residents move on into permanent housing in their area of choice. Hardwick House has 3 main pillars of activity, which are: • Structured transition into permanent housing • Health and Wellbeing • Training and Education in readiness for employment Hardwick House Provides For Veterans: • Staffing 24/7 all year round. • A range of support plans ensuring successful transition to civilian life. • Flexible staff cover for the provision of a reactive service. • Services & activities which are engaging, creating self-respect & support networks. • A skilled staff team who understand the needs of veterans. • A gateway to training and employment for Veterans. • A source of help for those with complex and interwoven issues. • A gateway to temporary & permanent accommodation and support services. • Advice on housing, welfare benefits and other matters. • A catalyst for services from other agencies. You will help customers with complex support needs as well as offender and/or homelessness backgrounds. As a Relief Worker your duties will include working on reception as the first point of contact for customers, general cleaning duties and health and safety checks, to keep our services vibrant and safe Does this describe you? The successful candidate will preferably have experience of working in a homeless or support setting. You will also have excellent communication skills and the ability to use your initiative and remain resilient, reliable and motivated at all times.
