Established for close to 100 years they are a go-to consultancy that operate across a range of sectors on enterprise level projects. Although joining a large business with thousands of employees you will be joining a small development function that run Agile and closely communicate. The role is to be predominantly based from their offices in Aldershot, with occasional travel to client site to understand requirements. Your new role My client has enjoyed a period of sustained growth across various market sectors and intends to continue recruiting despite the existing wider global situation. They are a projects focused business, providing technical consultancy and solutions primarily to the UK market, which we expect to see demand continue for. Specifically, you will work on the development of applications, mathematical models and graphical user interfaces as specified by the Project Manager and the Lead Developer; You will be working on applications that give their customers insight into complex issues and help them to make multi-million pound decisions. There is really no ceiling in terms of progression here, and you can move horizontally and vertically once inside the business and you'll work alongside some truly gifted programmers and technical leaders. What you'll need to succeed The right candidate will need to demonstrate excellent programming and mathematical skills and will have commercial experience with C# / VB.Net. Additional OO language experience will help such as Java or C++ and you should be confident working with MS SQL. You will have a real commitment to software best practice and will enjoy working in a consultative way, eliciting requirements and acting on these to ensure the best result for the customer. Wider exposure to 3D Modelling and simulation of real world problems, Physics, User Interfaces and Scientific Engineering Analysis will serve you well. It's a real mix between programming and academic principles within a commercial setting.
