Occupational Therapy Assistant – Mansfield Permanent 52 week contract - £17,793 – 18,883 (Point 14 – 19) Full Time – 37.5 hours per week We have an exciting role available as part of a new service in Occupational Therapy which forms part of the College’s overall vision to increase the independence of learners. The service will focus on what people can do, and further build on these skills to enable individuals to be as independent as possible to improve their quality of life. You will work within the Occupational Therapy team in an assistant role, helping learners to develop, maintain and improve their daily living skills via a short-term, agreed programme of independence focused activity. You will: Assist in the provision of specialist equipment related to increasing independence. Undertake assessments under the instruction of the Occupational Therapy Team and be willing to contribute information to inform an assessment. Work with the Occupational Therapy Team to run individual and group sessions around independence Act as a clinical resource for promoting independence and motivate individuals to carry out day to day activities as independently as possible. Complete admin related tasks such as updating databases, completing forms and have involvement in audits, quality walks and the reviewing of processes. Promote the principles of personalisation, choice and control and positive risk taking. You will be working across the college environment, FE residential environment, and the wider community The successful candidate will have or be willing to work towards Maths & English Functional Skills Level 2 or GCSE grade C, as well as a Level 3 NVQ, Diploma or Advanced Apprenticeship Award in a healthcare related subject or relevant degree. A LSA/TA qualification at Level 2 or 3 and NAPPI UK PBS training at Levels 1 or 2 would be desirable, but not essential.
