Overview

Could you make a positive difference in the life of someone with a learning disability? You'be working as a Support Worker at our supported living service in Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes. This role is part-time, 20 hours a week . In this service we support four people with a diagnosis of learning disability, autism, and associated mental health conditions. You will provide daily support including supporting community activities and domestic tasks. We work to enable people to make positive choices, taking increasing control and responsibility for their life, whilst reducing risk of mental health relapse. Everyone has different interests, including football, video games, shopping, spending time with family and friends, art and crafts, walks and day trips. Bring your own hobbies and interests to share as well One of the tenants can sometimes be verbally challenging, but you'll receive specialist training in positive behaviour support to help him manage his emotions. You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (up to 2 per week). Shift pattern: Early shifts - 7:30 am-3 pm, Late shifts 2:30 pm-10 pm, day shifts 9 am-2 pm and 2 pm-8 pm. You don't need experience, as we provide a full induction and free training program.
