Overview
To ensure manufacturing equipment and production processes run safely and in a cost effective and efficient manner. To offer input into the design of products to ensure best practice is achieved and the product is designed for manufacture. PRINCIPAL TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Design and build specific production lines for New Products 2. Update and maintain existing production lines to meet planned schedules and quantities. 3. Maintain test equipment to customer and internal company standards. 4. Carryout problem solving and quality improvement investigations and actions. 5. Highlight and implement opportunities for productivity improvement. 6. Participate in new product introduction 7. Maintain knowledge of current technology regarding processes/methods. 8. Initiate, maintain and improve all associated documentation and work standards. 9. Coordinate with other technical and commercial departments to ensure their requirements are translated into production outputs. 10. Create, maintain and update system routings. 11. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors with reference to production issues. 12. Ensure production lines follow Health and Safety standards. 13. Instruct operators in the use of Production equipment as required. 14. Design of Production Jigs and Fixtures 15. Comply and be aware of the company Quality and Environmental procedures and wherever possible to reduce environmental impacts associated in undertaking the job function. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Optimum labour efficiency of production lines. 2. Safety of Production Line Processes. 3. Ensuring cost effective designs which meet production and test process requirements. 4. Maintaining own knowledge of latest technology. 5. Reducing environmental impacts and promoting recycling. 6. Maintaining ERP System Routing Information SIGNIFICANT DATA AND DIMENSIONS · Labour variances. · QA process audit results · QC statistics e.g. P-Charts · Safety audits ·Cost reduction through engineering EDUCATION, TRAINING,QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering. Previous commercial experience in a similar role Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques and Just in Time Proficient in MS Office Production Fixture Design Experience
