Overview

Valorum Foundation is a newly formed charitable organisation whose objectives include to provide opportunities for residents of the services of Valorum Care Group to engage in meaningful activities and take advantage of opportunities for self-development. We also want to provide opportunities for all people with a disability to engage with their communities. The shop in Poole exists to raise money for the nearby Valorum Care Group Residential Home, The Grange and to provide work placement and volunteer opportunities. We are is looking to recruit an adaptable Shop Manager who is comfortable working within a challenging and multitask environment. Guiding the Poole shop to long term success and sustainability, you will be the face of the shop, representing Valorum Foundation you will build relationships and maintain professional standards with the sales staff and volunteers together with the customers. As the shop manager you will be expected to control all aspects of the store; from sales and profit to training and recruitment. Enthusiasm, initiative and excellent communication skills are essential in this role to motivate a small team including volunteers and ensure they meet targets, maximize sales and deliver excellent customer service. Key responsibilities Overall Job Purpose Take day to day responsibility for managing the shop and retail sales Recruit and manage a team of volunteers Engage with residents of The Grange to ensure opportunities are maximised for their involvement at all levels Initiate sales campaigns and sales promotions to increase sales. Ensure all staff and volunteers maintain a high standard of customer care. Promote the shop in the local community Maintaining effective stock management & merchandising Control pricing in line with company policy and ensure the highest possible resale value of donated stock Ensure all items offered for sale meet current legislation and VF’s policies and procedures Apply company display, merchandising and window dressing standards. Qualifications No specific qualifications required but this role demands a good level of retail and management experience and a high level ability to oversee operational delivery together with the ability to work to tight deadlines, with a high level of accuracy and the ability to drive quality operations.
