Lecturer in Real Estate Permanent and full time based at Frenchay Campus £33,797-£40,322 (pro rata if part time) UWE, Bristol’s Department of Architecture and the Built Environment is one of the leading providers of architecture and built environment education, research and knowledge exchange in the country. We are engaged in Knowledge Exchange activities within the city, at The Bristol Architecture Centre based in the city-centre and through applied research. As a result, the Department performs exceptionally well in key performance indicators including the National Student Survey results (100% in some courses), employability (90% plus for many courses) and research (e.g. three major EPSRC grants recently secured). The Department of Architecture and the Built Environment is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic lecturer in real estate. The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Other duties will depend upon the background of the appointee, who will be expected to make an enthusiastic contribution to the life of the department and faculty. A proven research track record through publication in major conferences and journals, or through practice, is desirable. The Department wishes to appoint a permanent 1.0 FTE Lecturer in Real Estate to help develop and contribute to teaching, research and knowledge exchange within the Department. The principal requirement of the role will be to ensure the development of teaching, research and/or knowledge exchange activities within the Department and specifically within the domain of our Property and Real Estate programmes at UG and PG level. We seek the appointment of either a research active academic that will complement &/or expand our knowledge and expertise within the Department and develop a contribution to the Research Excellence Framework or an academic with a strong industry expertise. Experience of student project & dissertation supervision would also be advantageous. In addition to delivering effective teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The post-holder’s duties and responsibilities will lie in the following areas: Contribute to the teaching of real estate and property programmes.Act as a personal tutor where appropriate. Undertake any other duties, which fall within the remit of the post. Contribute to the research/knowledge transfer activities of the Department and the wider Faculty. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time and is based at our Frenchay Campus.
