Overview

Communications Manager, Cardiff £25k to £30k per annum plus benefits Acorn Recruitment is working with the national governing body for gymnastics in Wales. We are recruiting for a Communications Manager to join the team. This is a hands on role and not a strategic role. Role Summary The main purpose of the role is to develop and expand Communications capability to deliver customer value and community / club engagement. This is very much a 'hands-on' role, working closely with colleagues to achieve agreed targets. Main Areas of Responsibility: Use communication and content strategies to help drive improvements in engagement and satisfaction of key audiences groups (such as gymnasts and parents, clubs and coaches, and other nominated audiences). Develop recommendations and implement communications activity. Build understanding of and support for Welsh Gymnastics amongst the relevant audience groups, differentiate tone & channel as required. Liaise with and coordinate marketing activities designated to external PR/Marketing Agencies. Produce and disseminate high quality, creative content to support effective tactical campaigns with a particular focus on club and community involvement, as well as reputation building for Welsh Gymnastics. With a focus on creative copywriting, create rich content to be shared on all digital and social media channels. Service colleagues with communication advice to help them create, implement and measure bespoke communications plans to support new projects. Create copy and influence automated communications such as triggered emails. Manage change communications for the organisation. Establish and manage a best practice operation with fit for purpose, contemporary systems and processes. Create communication guidelines, toolkits and governance balancing control with empowering departments. Organise the organisation's communications calendar. Develop relationships with other Home Nations Communication representatives to align communications activity. Knowledge, Skills and Expertise This role requires the holder to have proven knowledge and expertise in Communications and developing communication plans, including smart related software/applications and analytics tools. Advanced English language skills and intermediate IT skills are required. Degree (or equivalent) in Media Studies, Journalism, English or other appropriate discipline; and evidence of prior experience managing Communications in other organisations.
