Year 5 Teacher Vacancy September 2020 start MPS1-MPS6 Permanent, full-time Year 5 Teacher role Based in Islington Year 5 Teacher Specification We are looking for a Year 5 Teacher who is able to join a team of experienced KS2 Teachers and quickly develop new skills and teaching techniques, whilst also being confident in offering advice and support to colleagues. The successful Year 5 Teacher will ideally have at least 1 year of experience however, the school would be excited to speak with NQTs and have the provisions in place to support an NQT. As a Year 5 Teacher, it is essential that you have a strong understanding of the curriculum and are able to adapt your approach to ensure each pupil gains the most out of every lesson. About the Year 5 Teacher Role In this Year 5 Teacher role, you will be joining a 3-form entry primary in Islington and taking over a class of 25 students. The class you will be taking over is of mixed ability, however, children across the 3 forms are set for Numeracy and Literacy. The class enjoy their time in school and are eager to engage in lessons. There is a great CPD programme for all staff members which gets tailored to suit individuals. Your role as a Year 5 Teacher will be supported by an experienced TA and you will meet regularly with your Year 5 Teacher colleagues. The school Based in Islington, this school is easily accessible using public transport and is within a short walk of almost all tube lines. The school has a fantastic SLT which has been in place for a number of years now. Since the current Headteacher took over, the school has improved from an Ofsted grade of ‘requires improvement’ to now consistently being graded ‘Good’. This is an achievement which the school should be proud of given that in this time, they also increased from a 2-form to a 3-form school.
