Retail Health and Safety Manager

Home Bargains is one of the UK's fastest growing and most exciting retailers with the opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to join us as Retail Health and Safety Manager. This role is based at our Head Office in Liverpool but will require field-based work in accordance with operational needs. The Retail Health and Safety Manager is essential to developing safety management systems, monitoring compliance with legislative, best practice and TJ Morris standards across the business. The role incorporates both responsive and preventative approaches to minimise the risk of occupational health issues, accidents and injuries to those affected by our operations, as well as identifying, coordinating and driving improvements in safety, quality and productivity. Job Description Competitive salary 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year including bank and public holiday allowance rising to 6.6 weeks upon 5 years' service Contributable Company pension scheme Onsite subsidised Health and Fitness Centre Subsidised canteen 10% store discount Access to social and sporting events Job Overview Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health, ensuring adherence and regular review and communication of all health and safety policies, procedures and standards Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas of health, safety and welfare at work and has appropriate preventative and responsive measures in place within its stores Complete and review risk assessments for all aspects of the business Ensure accidents are documented and investigated as appropriate and any identified improvements are implemented Ensure that a planned programme of safety inspections and audits is carried out and employees are aware of their responsibilities Ensure documented Health and Safety and Food Safety Management Systems are accurately updated and maintained and that legislative requirements are met Organise and carry out training and ensure that any statutory requirements are met throughout the business Minimum Criteria To Apply NEBOSH Diploma or relevant degree Minimum 5 years' experience in a health and safety environment, preferably within retail Knowledge and understanding of EU and UK legislation Relevant food safety qualifications Excellent communication skills to communicate at all levels of the business and with third parties About The Company TJ Morris Limited trading as Home Bargains is a privately owned family run discount retailer selling top brands at the lowest possible price on the UK high street.
