Overview
Assistant Financial Accountant Full Time, Permanent Package : £22,000 to £24,000 per annum Annual company bonus Pension scheme Parking Working : 35 hours, Monday to Friday Location : Winnersh Triangle, Berkshire RG41 5TS Working for the Advantage Smollan Group, the Assistant Financial Accountant will primarily focus on providing support to the Group Reporting and Head Office Accounting functions. The person will report into the Head of Accounting, supporting work undertaken for the CFO and FD. As the European and UK groups grow there will be the opportunity for the right individual to develop into a more senior European role but initially there will be a wide remit in a small team. You will be responsible for: Head office accounting Assist Head Office Accountant with all aspects of accounting for main holding company, including processing & payment of invoices and posting of journals Take ownership of accounting for non-trading holding companies Monthly reporting and consolidation Perform reviews of data submitted by European finance teams and work with those teams to resolve queries Submit data for head office companies into BPC consolidation tool Prepare uploads for reporting to shareholders Develop understanding of group consolidation Opportunity to assist Financial Planning & Analysis team Ad hoc experience in other specialist functions such as Tax, Treasury and Corporate Finance Working with a range of our businesses and finance functions will provide experience of financial reporting, planning and control tools Knowledge, experience and skills required: Graduate (Finance/Accounting-related) with the desire to train as an Accountant (ACCA/CIMA study support will be provided) Excellent analytical skills Strong attention to detail and thoroughness Good communication skills (both oral and written), 2nd language preferably European desirable Good Excel skills and general computer skills Role involves use of multiple systems (Sage, MS Dynamics 365, SAP BPC, SAP Cartesis) so keenness to learn these systems is key Team player Ability to work well under pressure Proactively challenging the status quo and initiating change Ability to multi-task and prioritise workflow around tight deadlines In return we will offer you: Full training and ongoing support to enable you to fulfil your role to the best of your potential Great career opportunities A fun working environment where performance and success are really rewarded Extra benefits include: enhanced pension, life assurance, enhanced paternity and maternity leave, Perkbox and Taste Card If you would like to be part of our success, please apply today.
