Overview

CARE ASSISTANTS-Supported Living Houses Working for a large care group who specialise in Supported living for Adults with varying degrees of Learning Disabilities, including Autism, Epilepsy, some with communication difficulties. We are looking for Care Assistants who have prior experience within the care sector, or expereinced Care Support workers. You will be caring, compassionate, friendly, a good team player and above all a great communicator. You will be happy to support and encourage these Adults to lead happy and fulfilling lives, they enjoy many different types of activities, and have so much to do on their door steps in the Portsmouth area, as well as easy connection to both Southampton and Guildford. You will be providing some personal care, helping them with grooming, teaching them how to be hygienic and promoting good hygiene when helping them with food preparation etc. There are normally 2-4 adults per house, in the Portsmouth area, they have lovely gardens that they enjoy using, you will also support them in the community with shopping, appointments, activities and banking. This is a rewarding position where you can really make a difference to their lives. Normal Shifts, Early 7am to 2pm and Late 2pm to 10pm, with some Comulsory sleepovers. Can offer Full or Part-time hours, permanent positions, 35 Hour or 32 Hour contracts. If you drive this would be advantageous, though not essential as there is very good public transportation in Portsmouth. or you can choose to work in the community 1 on 1 care; CARE ASSIsTANTS IN THE COMMUNITY- 1 to 1 Care As well as the supported living Service for Adults with Learning Disabilities, there is also Community Care Service working in Portsmouth, where the Care Assistants provide 1 on 1 care for Adults with Physical Disabilities, spending a minimum of 1 hour per visit, providing personal care, bathing, help with cleaning the house, washing/laundry/cooking, food preparation, this role again would be easier if you have a Car to go to each house but eveything is easily reached by public transport, and you can work and early shift and a late shift for this position.
