Overview

Are you a Band 2 Health Care Assistant (HCA) looking for work? We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join specialist Older Adults Acute Mental Health service based in Ilford within the NHS. •Do you know someone who would be interested in this role? We offer a £250 referral bonus per successful candidate that is referred Temporary pay rate: Days: £10ph ltd Nights & Saturdays: £11ph ltd Sundays & Bank Holidays £13ph ltd Hours and length of contract: •Full time/part time flexible shifts •Earlies/Lates/Nights/Long Days •The service is open 24/7 Monday to Sunday •The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP with an initial 3 month contract length. Daily Duties: You will be working as part of an Older Adults Acute Mental Health NHS ward for males over 65 years of age. These service users are deemed to be frail and have either functional mental health problems such as depression, anxiety or psychosis or organic mental illness such as dementia or other brain injury conditions. Daily duties will include: •Supporting service users with care including daily living activities and an activity programme. •Providing practical support and assistance with problems of daily living •Undertaking individual care plans, assessments, intensive treatment, intervention and support in the early stages of a mental health crisis •Recovery planning with patient focused outcomes •Observing patient progress against planned goals and report changes in the patients' condition or care needs to a registered nurse in a timely manner •Perform welfare/routine checks, guided by the personal support plan Person specification: The applicant must be DBS cleared and have previous experience in the field.
