Overview

My client has an established and fast growing accountancy practice north of Newcastle city centre which has a great reputation across the UK for their approach to innovation, technology and change. With a strong team supporting on both the delivery of compliance and advisory services they wish to increase this and recruit a Practice Accountant or Client Manager. With an ambitious outlook to continue with fast growth they are looking for an equally ambitious individual, either professionally qualified (ACCA/ACA), qualified by experience or currently working towards exams. You must have experience from an accountancy firm, that is most important, however some training can be given for those wishing to transfer for example out of audit into accounts. Your day to day role will be fast paced, juggling various clients needs, preparing tax reports, meeting with clients, attending networking events and integration in the local business community as well as supporting other team members with their technical queries. No two days will be the same, with each day bringing new challenges and better ways of working you will be encouraged to be creative and play an active part in the business performance and improvement of systems and procedures. You will embrace change and be comfortable with business transformation. With you own portfolio of clients you will be completing the production of both monthly management accounts as well as year end statutory accounts for clients, supporting them with their queries and use of Xero and other cloud systems. Providing support to more junior members in the team who will take care of the VAT returns and bookkeeping elements of accounts we would look for someone who enjoys training and developing staff. We are looking for a confident individual with particularly strong communication skills who enjoys client interaction, is commercial and thinks differently. Those with Big 4 experience are of interest and can be offered a position that will develop their all round technical knowledge in a commercial environment. Similarly if you have only ever worked in a small firm, we would still like to talk to you. My client embraces modern technology and thus all applicants must be very confident with the use of this.
