QA & Regulatory Manager Location : Folkestone Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE Essential: Quality Assurance: 3 years (Preferred) / Regulatory: 1 year (Preferred) We have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced QA & Regulatory Manager to lead the quality and regulatory functions onsite. The QA & Regulatory Manager is a key member of the Senior Management team, whose primary focus is to ensure that we meet customer, external accreditation and legislative requirements, on time and in full, every time.It is essential that the QA & Regulatory Manager has a broad knowledge and skill base which allows them to optimise product packing to ensure customer satisfaction whilst focusing on commercial considerations and the need to maximise company profitability. Has the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships at all levels What are some of the main aspects of the role: Ensure that the site and staff comply with our legal, food safety and quality obligations as defined by the SALSA standard. Ensure the business retains their SALSA accreditation and be proactive to incorporate BRC standards where possible. HACCP Reviews and update training undertaken. Undertake and Implement TACCP/VACCP/HARPC. Be proactive within production, work with Operations and Production Managers to ensure all aspects are considered within NPD, processes and advised from a Food Safety & Quality perspective. Ensure all daily,weekly and monthly QA duties are completed to a satisfactory standard. Such duties include but are not limited to hygiene audits, equipment calibration, shelf life assessments, temperature checks, internal audits against the SALSA standard, finished product & raw ingredient testing positive release duties, etc. Undertake the QA portion of the staff induction programme. In addition, co-ordinate and deliver refresher quality training and tool box talks as and when necessary. Ensure that satisfactory hygiene standards are maintained at all times in the main operational areas of the site. Attend and actively participate in relevant operational meetings, e.g. SMT meetings, daily production meetings. Ensure complaints are dealt with in an effective manner and look at root causes to minimise recurrence of issues. Lead and support other managers and staff to ensure continuous improvement, cost control and waste reduction during every operational task. Horizon scanning for any food safety or legislative issues, make Directors aware, and offer advice and solutions on how to comply. Ensure third party accreditations or compliance schemes remain compliant by updating and collating mass balance or other data, confirming and tracing ingredients, gain permission on new or expired products. Ensure labels are legally compliant. Undertake annual sales returns as required for third party accreditation or compliance. Any other reasonable duties assigned to this position. Skills & Experience required: Food Manufacturing experience within a QA Manager, Quality Systems Manager, Technical Manager or Technical Services Manager overseeing assistants. Low care site experience is a must have, High care site experience would be an added benefit Strong coaching, mentoring & developing skills, leading other to be their very best. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification Advanced Food hygiene certificate Auditor Training HACCP Training BRC experience or knowledge Manager Coaching Good Microsoft Excel and word skills Good Manufacturing Practice Training & implementation.
