Overview

The University of Brighton’s School of Education is one of the largest providers of education and training for student teachers, teachers and other professionals in the Higher Education sector. The School of Education is dynamic and forward looking, and enjoys a regional, national and international reputation for the quality of its provision. There is a strong commitment to national, international and applied education research, enterprise and scholarly activity within the School of Education and across the University of Brighton more generally. Internationally excellent and world-leading research in Education is focused around four research and enterprise groups, namely: Children and Young People’s Voice and Education Pedagogy, Professional Learning and Organisational Change Higher Education Pedagogies and Policy Narrative and Biographical Methodologies in Education. Through the appointment of a part-time, permanent Professor we seek to further strengthen research leadership as well as our international research profile. The successful candidate will possess an established track record of internationally excellent publications, proven experience of winning external research funding as a PI, and successful experience of leading research teams and doctoral supervision. They will also be committed to research capacity building and supporting the development of early career researchers. Salary information: Professor (Band 1) from £62,727 – £70,583 pro rata; Professor (Band 2) from £70,583 - £81,796 pro rata, depending on experience brought to the role.
