We are recruiting for a Supervisor within our Supported living services in Dundee, who can coach and mentor our front-line staff within our team, while providing appropriate support and regular supervision. Supporting and identifying the training needs of your team to ensure that training is provided to support staff development. This is an excellent opportunity in first line management within Sense Scotland, with clear career development and internal opportunities to develop your care within social care management. We need you to have a genuine passion for the social care sector, experience in developing and managing a staff team, comfortable and confident in your management skills in this lead role that really makes a difference in our service. You will realise the important in supporting and developing a staff team within care and if you feel you can support people with complex communication and support needs to live an individual and interesting life, while supporting your staff team to excel in their roles and the service we deliver, then we would love to hear from you. Daily you will take line management responsibilities of the team as delegated by the locality manager, be the key staff contact and lead on shift to offer guidance and support to a team of support workers. Say hello to the team Erskine St- Dundee 2 This Housing Support Service supports 7 adults, four men and three women within their own tenancies. A large staff team work across the service but have a commitment to core teams. The Erskine Street service is primarily purpose built for people with a learning disability and other complex needs. Two live offsite. A core team are based in the service with a Locality Manager and Supervisor on site. The Registered Manager works across two sites. The needs of the people supported are unique to them but do include Learning Disability, Sensory impairment, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Bi-Polar Disorder. Most of the people supported have Welfare Guardians appointed either through the Health and Social Care Partnerships or families. We work closely with them and ensure that any change to support or event is reported appropriately. This role could be for you if You have a great work ethic, can work using your own initiative and work well as part of a team You are enthusiastic about helping the people we support achieve their goals in life You have excellent communication skills You are professional and can deal with queries in a diplomatic and confidential manner You are patient, understanding and love to support people to achieve positive outcomes You are eager to learn and develop your skills in any training provided You have a good knowledge of services Sense Scotland provide A driver as you will be required to drive the vehicle of the person, we support You will hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or other specialty recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes) You will already be or will be able to gain professional registration with the SSSC within the timescale required We will review applications on an ongoing basis.
