TECHNICAL LEAD DATA ENGINEERING (JAVA OR SCALA) LONDON (NORTH WEST LONDON) BETWEEN £80,000 - £90,000 This role will involve technically lead the Data Engineering team to deliver a greenfield data platform. You will face challenges interacting with legacy systems - however the focus in upon building a Cloud hosted Data Platform. The Company is immersed in the telecommunications industry & have incredibly rich datasets to be working with. They are looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer from a Java / Python / Scala background with a passion for software engineering best practice. COMPANY: The company is a small telecomms company with an impressive market share given their size. They are currently expanding rapidly & are looking to hire a Technical Lead to oversee the existing team. The working environment is highly collaborative & open - they want to ensure that all voices are heard regardless of Seniority. ROLE: Building data pipelines using Python / Java / Scala Adherence to best practice software engineering principals (Python)(TDD, Unit testing, OOP) Developing the existing AWS infrastructure (Terraform, S3, Lambdas, Kinesis, EMR) Ability to contribute to architectural conversations This role will involve technical leadership - however they are happy for a Senior Engineer to step into this role SKILLS & EXPERIENCES: Software engineering skills Experience building complex & scalable ETL pipelines Adherence to best practices such as TDD & BDD Commitment to continuous learning HOW TO APPLY: Please register your interest by sending your CV to William Wrigley via the apply link on this page
