Overview

Carbon60 are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager for a leading manufacturing company based on the outskirts of Oxford, reporting directly into the Managing Director this position will ensure the production facility runs efficiently, reliably and ensure all orders are on time and to budget. This company manufacture a range of engineering products that are often single bespoke products as well as the mass production of a range of mechanical components. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading and managing teams where multiple production methods are used, Mass production, batch production and one offs. This management position will have approx. 20 direct reports across the business including two production supervisors. Roles responsibilities will include: Planning and organising production schedules. Agreeing budgets and timescales. Monitoring quality systems. Manage and motivate a team of workers with varied skills sets. Identify and organise relevant training sessions. Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to. Work alongside other managers within the business to implement new business goals and policies. Work closely with other departments within the business such as procurement and sales. Take responsible for organising routine maintenance. The successful candidate for this position will need to have previous management experience within a production/manufacturing environment Ideally mechanically biased, however the company are open to the sector background. Further Skills and Experience Required: Excellent ability to plan, organise and lead teams of multi-skilled engineers. Ability to run and monitor all production processes. Able to work under pressure and to set deadlines. Strong negotiation skills to obtain materials within budget and on time. Ability to act decisively to solve any problems with either staff or equipment. Good working knowledge in LEAN. Degree or equivalent engineering qualification. Membership or chartered status within a management institute is highly desirable. Knowledge of SAP is desirable but now essential.
