Overview

In the role you will assist the team in managing all aspects of finance and ensuring the financial strategy is implemented effectively, providing a high level of service to internal stakeholders. Working in partnership with the small finance team you will help to prepare consolidated reports, complete all DfE, ESFA and other returns and deliver best value procurement & income generation strategies. Ensuring that all records meet legal and tax requirements, and completing monthly VAT returns, you will assist in managing cashflow and capital development. In addition, you will assist the Financial Controller in preparing long-term strategic budget planning information and help to manage financial software and to ensure that robust processes & procedures are in place. About you You will have experience of working in a financial management role (or in a similar position working alongside schools e.g. LA or independent education sector) OR be a qualified accountant. With strong technical accounting skills, you will be a team player with experience of managing large and complex budgets, along with producing and presenting complex management accounts. Whilst a Finance degree, CCAB or equivalent qualification would be an advantage, what is most important is that you have excellent financial management and planning skills, are an excellent communicator and have strong Commercial awareness.
