Overview
We are looking for an experienced Stores Person to join our growing company based in Sawston, Cambridge. The core of our business is our fleet of fully equipped service vehicles operating 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We provide thorough statutory testing and certification including weight testing both on and or, as is most frequent, service at the customer’s premises. You will need to manage your work load and prioritise daily duties efficiently whilst communicated identified risks effectively. A friendly, approachable person is a necessity as the successful candidate will be work as part of a small team in a large department. Requirements Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook is preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Customer Service experience essential. Attention to detail - high accuracy level. Deadline driven. Team Player but capable of working on own. Excellent organisation skills. Duties and Responsibilities: - Dealing with incoming calls from customers, manufacturers/suppliers and couriers. Booking parts in and out of stores on our bespoke in house database in a timely and accurate manner. Maintenance of stores and our mobile fleet. Issuing parts to engineers. Booking equipment in and out. Packing/unpacking of equipment. Liaising with customers, manufacturers/suppliers and couriers. Obtaining technical assistance or verification from the department head, when necessary. Ensuring the company’s quality of standards and procedures are upheld. Person Specification: - Previous experience in stores or similar role is essential. Experience of liaising with customers, manufacturers/suppliers and couriers. Tail lift and ancillary equipment knowledge desirable but not essential. Administrative skills. Excellent communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner. Good organisation skills. Professional approach to tasks, relationships and corporate culture. An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Job Type: Full-time Start: ASAP Location : Sawston, Cambridgeshire Hours : Monday to Friday, 08:00 hrs until 17:30 hrs (and 1 Saturday in 5, 08:00 hrs until 12:00 hrs).
