Overview

Title: Assistant Depot Manager Reporting directly to the LWC Drinks Depot Manager A trainee manager is responsible for learning the key skills and knowledge that are required to run a successful LWC Drinks Depot. Objectives of the job: To learn how the Depot Manager returns the budgeted Net Profit for the depot as agreed by the Company Directors. To shadow and assist in managing the day-to-day running of the depot. To monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the depot. To analyse important data to monitor performance and plan improvements; for example, 5 weekly reports and the weekly and monthly margin reports. Main Duties: - To learn how to review and manage monthly margin reports, gross margins on cyberquery, gross margins on trinity, retro credit report, ullage write offs, add backs, aged debt report. Also reports on Loans, fridges and essential retro’s, free stock - Responsibility for managing LWC support- add backs, promotional offers and supplier deals and sponsorships - Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers - Assisting in optimising depot sales: working closely with account managers to help develop new business as well as improving business retention. To assess the Account Manager’s performance on a monthly basis at Depot Sales meetings - Ensure that the depot meets sales targets set by the Sales Manager and the Company Directors - To ensure adequate security of cash and stock within audit guidelines - Enforcing health and safety policies and procedures - Assisting to initiate marketing campaigns and sales promotions to increase sales - Ensuring that the depot is competing effectively with local competitors - To allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs of the depot - Responsible for allocating all depot staff holiday requests and absence monitoring - To foster a positive team spirit, communicate sales figures and initiate better ways of working within your depot team - To assist with any warehousing and distribution needs within the depot Key Skills: - Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records - Full use of ‘Trinity’ system, quote system and Cyberquery - Good communication skills - Good Management skills - Good Customer service skills - Good specialist knowledge of the Drinks Industry and the marketplace
