Overview

BAe Systems have a number of requirements for Manufacturing Engineers to undertake the below contract role. Job Purpose To manage defined manufacturing processes and products to safely, reliably and efficiently meet the daily business. expectations in terms of SHE, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People for the delivery of munition components. Job Context Proficiency in machines and machine controls. Experience associated with CNC lathes, work holding solutions, tooling and process set-ups. Approximately 70% of our manufacturing is completed on CNC lathes. The successful candidate must: Have a working knowledge of machining / manufacturing Create and read engineering drawings Create comprehensive work instructions (SOP's) Create and review risk assessments Problem solve and recognise industry standard problem solving tools The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible and accountable for the manufacturing process of the defined process/ product. This will include the day to day management of the process, sustaining, improving and developing it to achieve the business manufacturing targets for safety, quality, cost and delivery. The ME will also be responsible for the successful introduction of new products into a manufacturing process, ensuring that the process is capable and delivers to the required OEE. The ME will be responsible for liaising with other functions, including Safety, Quality, Procurement and Engineering to successfully tackle production issues, following the relevant processes and processes, identifying suitable causes, remedial actions and corrective actions. This role is crucial in achieving the business requirements for the manufacture of munition components to the required quality, cost and delivery requirements. Principle Accountabilities/ KRAs Responsibilities include but are not solely limited to the below for a designated work area for both current products and new products. Representation of Manufacturing Engineering at daily SQCDP meeting, raising and managing issues and actions accordingly.
