Registered Manager - Shortbread House/Gingerbread House (part of) Job Description/Person Specification Line Managed By Chief Executive Officer/Nominated Individual or delegated authority given to the Nominated Individual Due to the nature of this post, any offer of employment will be subject to the outcome of an enhanced DBS disclosure. Hours - Normally 35 hours per week (or if part time as agreed in contract of employment) excluding half an hour per shift for a meal break, with opportunities for overtime. Shifts will be on a rolling rota; flexibility is essential as weekly evening and alternate weekend work will be required outside of normal shifts. Reasonable time off in lieu will be given with the prior approval of the Chief Executive Officer or delegate. Staff will be expected to lone work from 10p.m on a sleepover shift with risk assessments in place. Staff are available next door in Shortbread House to assist at short notice. Rates of Pay Dependent on experience and qualifications - in the region of £30,000 Holidays Twenty-one days per annum plus eight days public holidays, part time pro rata. Twenty-five days per annum after three years’ service Location Your normal place of work will be Shortbread House, 27 East Kent Avenue, Kent, DA11 9HU. However, you will be required to travel locally and within reasonable distances with trainees to enable them to fully practice and utilise their skills in real situations and locations. Line Management Responsible to and line managed by the Chief Executive Officer or delegate. The Registered Manager is responsible for the delegation of all house paperwork and meeting CQC regulations. Responsible for the line management of all Shortbread House/Gingerbread House staff. To ensure all staff has a personal responsibility in regard to Health and Safety, any potential issues/hazards must be reported to the nominated Health and Safety Officer. Take an active role in training and mentoring new staff and volunteers. Purpose of the Role Registered Managers have to be registered by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the Manager has to be able to demonstrate to KASBAH and CQC their experience and expertise to carry out the role, with the correct qualifications and knowledge. There is a formal process that needs to successfully achieved to be offered a permanent position. A Registered Manager must spend a significant amount of the time with the service users and with staff because they are responsible for the day-to-day running of the service and the health and well-being of the service users who are of course of paramount importance. The Registered Manager has the legal responsibility for the service and can be held accountable.Citation HR and Quality Compliance systems (QCS)provide KABBAH with operational policies and procedures and CQC supporting documents. To oversee the line management and supervision of the staff at the Shortbread House/Gingerbread House in line with the performance of their duties and responsibilities and to ensure regulated activity is provided within CQC regulations. To ensure all compliance issues are identified and met within agreed timescales. The role requires the post holder to provide varying degrees of support, assistance, training and contribute to the effective and safe delivery of high-quality professional services and facilities. To ensure the staff approach is fun, person centred and in line with our newly adopted Positive Behaviour Support approach. To manage the daily operation, reporting and running of the Shortbread/Gingerbread House, staff and trainees. To provide a positive contribution to all aspects of the Independent Living Scheme. You can delegate any task to the seniors on site but the responsibility of that action remains with the post holder. Ensuring that the training and services provided are of the highest standards and quality. To oversee the upkeep of the property (including DIY, gardening) . To contribute ideas, time and experiences into the diversity and variety of the individual training programmes. To ensure all training and practice is carried out with due regard to safety of all trainees, staff and members of the public. Ensure this service provision is person centred and that all trainees make informed choices by being aware of the options and associated risks. To promote community presence and support trainee’s to engage in social activities. To oversee and co-ordinate the move in and move out of trainees; this may involve arranging furniture removal and hands on support. To co-ordinate, facilitate, implement and deliver identified training, support and assistance to trainees, which empowers and enables them to live as independently as individ
