Overview

To provide support to managers & partners through a varied role which includes; preparation of VAT returns, management accounts, annual accounts and various projects in our Scott Moncrieff, Edinburgh office. This position will play a key role in the delivery of outsourced CFO services to a large Financial Services client and would be a great opportunity to build on your experience within a reputable firm. You will be working alongside an experienced team and will gain exposure to working with a large, high profile client. For this position, you could be coming from another position within practice or an accountancy role within financial services. Requirements Preparation of monthly group management accounts Preparation of consolidated statutory financial statements and liaising with auditors Preparation of regulatory returns for submission to the FCA Assistance with other financial services compliance reporting and monitoring Preparation of quarterly group VAT returns Preparation of annual budgets Maintaining and updating detailed operating procedures Attendance at monthly finance meetings with the client Dealing with ad hoc client and other 3rd party queries Supervising junior members of the team Ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met Involvement in ad hoc client projects Experience, Skills and Knowledge required Relevant previous experience required within professional services/financial services Strong communicator willing to challenge where required Ability to understand basic tax planning relating to salaries and dividends Experience of cloud accounting packages Good client service skills Ability to work unsupervised Willingness to learn new accounting software packages Able to work within a team as well as work on own initiative Strong IT skills good knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to engage at all levels Effective planning and organising skills to ensure that the varied workload is managed effectively Confident and able to make decisions Self-motivated Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail Benefits Competitive salary Opportunities for flexible working Generous annual leave and bank holiday entitlement Excellent working environment Attractive bonus staff referral scheme Company pension scheme
