This is a great opportunity for someone to work across our Network, Software and Applications estate working with the wider IT team to ensure appropriate IT security is embedded into all of our services, processes and working practices Job Responsibilities Working as a Technical Lead for IT Security across the entire IT Department, you will play a vital role in the development of new solutions. Working with the Infrastructure and Applications teams you will ensure any new solutions meeting required security standards enabling our staff and students to be as creative and productive as possible with confidence that they are protected by appropriate security measures. Core Skills Strong background in IT or Cyber security with experience of designing, implementing and improving IT security capabilities, architecture and controls across Networks, Software and applications within a large complex environment Ideally experience of acting in technical lead or mentoring role with the passion to help develop people and security expertise Knowledge of applicable security standards and accreditations such as PCI-DSS, ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) Hands on experience of implementing and managing several the following, Cloud network and security integration, penetration testing, Server firewall configuration, Application security assessments, Data encryption protocols and ciphers, User or device-based network access controls Intrusion detection systems Communication Self-motivated and determined, you will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, utilising key resources where necessary, enabling you to influence key decision makers High level, proven inter-personal and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a team of technical and non- technical professionals Benefits A total salary package negotiable on experience circa £50,000 Defined benefit pension scheme 38 days leave including public holidays and closure days (24 days annual leave, 6 closure days and bank holidays) Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
