Overview

Role Profile Head of Treasury The role has full responsibility for planning, developing and managing the treasury activities of our client. Those activities include developing strategy, policies, group funding, financing structure, financial risk management and the provision of treasury services to the UK and overseas businesses. Main Duties and Responsibilities Liquidity Management: o Ensure that sufficient funding and other bank facilities are always available to meet the group's current and longer term requirements using bank borrowings, off balance sheet funding, leasing, trade facilities and FX lines. Negotiate facilities as necessary with banks and other financial counterparties. Prepare short and long term cash forecast in a timely and accurate manner. Making payments, collecting payments and back office accounting: o Ensure efficient, effective and well controlled processes. Continue to consider and implement future improvements FX dealing and exposure management: o Assisting management in ensuring objectives met. Develop and implement hedging strategy for transaction, economic and translation risk to include selection of counter parties, hedging mechanisms and position management. Commodity financing and risk management: o Maintain an awareness and understanding of financial risk management techniques and changes in tax regulations to assess whether the group’s treasury policies are appropriate. Assist our client in setting objectives. Operations: o Monitor and control the group’s banking arrangements. Establish best practice for cash management, money market and foreign exchange dealing within Treasury Develop and maintain positive relationships with banks, credit rating agencies, credit insurers and suppliers Determine system requirements, plan and implement development that optimises processes Provide constructive challenge to the management team where plans are unclear or pose financial risks, and proactively support them to find solutions Make a strong contribution to continuous improvement in treasury and the wider finance team, identifying and implementing ways in which we can improve how effectively and efficiently we work Ensuring business assets are safeguarded through effective authorisation and control procedures and ensuring adherence to group policies Manage team and lead by example, such that the team and its members continue to develop, are engaged, perform to a high standard overall and are encouraged to seek further improvements Manage or participate in ad hoc project activities as required Key Metrics: Meet challenging targets around interest, transaction and department costs 5 direct reports Person Specification: Essential Qualitfications and Training o Degree or similar qualification o Professional treasury qualification Experience and Knowledge o Significant treasury experience o Worked in a group environment o Strong commercial acumen and business awareness o Ability to provide insight and commentary on financial information o Team management o Solid current technical knowledge Skills and Competence o Excellent communication and presentation skills o Proven ability to influence others o Knowledge of and strive to implement best practice finance processes o Microsoft office Personal Qualities o Willingness to challenge the normor entrenched behaviour o Self-motivated and proactive o Opent to and will drive change throughout the team o Provides and implements solutions (not just identifying a problem) o Resilient Desirable Qualifications and Training o Qualified accountant o Yellow belt CI training Experience and Knowledge o SAP experience Skills and Competence o Negotiation skills o Advanced Excel skills - ideally modelling experience o Team building o Coaching/Mentoring
