Overview
Job title: Neighbourhood Officer Location: Greater Manchester Role type: Temporary ROLE PURPOSE To manage tenancies, leases and communities within a housing portfolio of various tenancy types; to act as an ambassador on behalf of the customers. To carry out regular estate inspections and regular monitoring of neighbourhood service contracts with customers, including cleaning and gardening DUTIES TO INCLUDE Consulting with tenants to ensure appropriate services are provided Negotiating contracts for estate services and monitoring these in action Deal with breaches of tenancy and anti-social behaviour Develop local lettings plans to reflect local priorities in consultation with residents and other staff Assess potential tenants and work with vulnerable tenants (including liaison with support agencies) Provide housing advice, guidance and information Encourage and facilitate resident participation in decision making EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED Knowledge of housing law, housing and neighbourhood management issues and good practice The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to people inside and outside the organisation The ability to sift information, draw conclusions and develop practical ways forward Negotiating skills A clear customer focus Experience of working as part of a team and on own initiative If you love a role with lots of variety and no two days work ever being the same the this role is for you.
