Job Title : Indirect Procurement Manager Location : Telford Salary: Competitive Job overview Support and assist the Head of Procurement in the strategic development, direction and management of indirect category procurement and ensuring output meets the capability needs of the overarching priorities of the business. Previously Indirect Procurement was provided as a centralised service. This is a new role in the function requiring an in-depth experience of Indirect procurement, preferably with knowledge and experience of business process outsourcing. Taking specific responsibilities within the overall function for the delivery of significant spend across the full spectrum of the Indirect Procurement. Working with operations and function leads this is an opportunity to ensure coherent category management is utilised in the transition of the centralised services into business ownership. The role will further develop into the management of functional governance, harmonisation with policy and procedure and performance reporting. Main Responsibilities: Works as a member of a business or functional team to provide Procurement capability and communications on Procurement strategy creation/deployment As a member of the Procurement team and community within a business / function will manage the effective deployment of Procurement process and would contribute to the development of Procurement policy and process for the defined area of responsibility. Sets direction and be responsible for the delivery of the functional business plan. Specific responsibilities as a senior manager within the function to discharge procurement requirements through the full life-cycle of the business, whilst ensuring that SHE remains central to the task; Engaging as part of the Procurement Management Team to align functional objectives with overreaching business strategies and deliver agendas as defined by the business. Managing and evolving effective business management process, in a manner that engages and involves all of the procurement team Management and leadership responsibility for the team of skilled procurement professionals, group leaders and managers including Strategic and operational procurement staff; Ensuring people are skilled, competent and empowered to meet the functional and business objectives; Providing an excellent customer experience, through functional and supplier performance and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. Creating an environment that is oriented towards the highest ethical standards, trust, open communication and creative thinking. Championing SHE performance and quality within the supply chain; Deputise of the Head of Procurement as required. Financial budget responsibility as delegated by the Head of Procurement. Current Business Expertise Experienced in creation & implementation of the Indirect Category Management. Experience within definition of business process and the outstanding thereof. In-depth working knowledge of creating requests for tender and the assessment process. Experience in working for a multi-national business. Ability to negotiate at senior levels within supply chained leverage spend wherever possible. Ability to understand the diversity of the organisational climate and reach a consensus when faced with the diverse operational activities and conflicting regulations. Ability for clam and pragmatic decision making and the ability to work with the business and find cost effective solutions with appropriate risk mitigation. Specialist skills required. Experienced Indirect Procurement Professional able to operate in the brown-field scenario and drive timely and cost-effective category management across the full spend. Definition of key performance indicators and producing effective methods of data capture to support their generation. Ability to work in a multi-national organisation, collaborate and develop with international colleagues the best Procurement solutions for the joint - venture and contribute to the wider procurement organisation's desire to develop global category management.
