Overview
Our client is a foremost, progressive engineering business known for its innovative approach to product design and the manufacturing of large bespoke products. Due to rapid expansion, they are now looking to recruit for an Assembly Manager to lead a team of Production Operatives involved in the assembly and finishing of products. Duties: · Provide direction, guidance, coaching and support to enable and drive high levels of product output paying attention to throughput efficiency and quality · Ensure Health & Safety is at the highest standard · Ensure the safe use of equipment and that regular maintenance is scheduled · Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the benefits of 6S (51 S) methods · Understand, adopt and implement Lean Manufacturing methods (including 6 Sigma) to create and engender a production ethos that delivers continued product improvement · Achieves production output targets by setting daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to employees · Achieve the production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel · Maintain work flow by creating and then monitoring steps of the process · Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analysing production performance records and data Skills and Qualifications: · Background in large vehicle manufacturing. · A good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement philosophy and 6 Sigma · Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role · Ability to deal with complexity in the manufacturing environment having good problem-solving skills and techniques · Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools · Advanced skills in MS Office
