Women's Hostel Night worker - Edinburgh Temporary: Full-time until 31/3/20 Salary: £11.05 an hour The Social Care Community Partnership are currently recruiting for a Women's Hostel Night worker for a well-respected charity based in Edinburgh. This is a waking night shift post at a 20 bedded women's refuge in the city centre for women having experienced domestic abuse. The shift time is 10.30pm-8.30am with a pattern of four nights on followed by four nights off. Key responsibilities To be responsible for the welfare and well-being of all service users. To address safety issues that may arise for service users during the night. To ensure house rules and occupancy agreements are adhered to. To ensure the general security of the building. To receive and process referrals and enquiries. To complete emergency admissions if required. To liaise with other Four Square services and relevant external agencies in order to ensure the most effective services for service users. To ensure the provision of facilities and services, in line with service users' occupancy agreements. To maintain the necessary and appropriate records within the project. This will include updating computer based recording systems on a regular basis. To prepare a shift planner for the staff coming in day shift Qualifications and experience: Experience of working with people from a disadvantaged background. Understanding of the resettlement process. Experience of working effectively as a member of a team. Experience of decision making and working effectively using one's own initiative. Good communication and numeracy skills. Experience of and the ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in I.T - word-processing, spreadsheets and databases. An understanding of and commitment to Equal Opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in a work setting. Desirable to have a relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, Community Education, Mental Health, Nursing or related discipline.
