Overview
Our client is seeking a Commercial Underwriter to join their team in Harrogate. Your responsibilities will include: To implement all necessary processing and underwriting of Farm/Motor Insurance within the agreed authority provided by Insurers. This includes the following: Provision of new business quotations, underwriting and policy issue Renewal review and underwriting Working with business development team to support business growth Processing policy amendments Resolution of queries from customers including other company members Assist with production of Management reports where appropriate e.g. Work states, Throughputs Support FCA compliance as required. Assist in the coaching of staff in understanding Underwriting issues, implications and handling requirements. Work in accordance with personal Underwriting License Keep own training and development up to date Work within the Clients business service standard To apply for this role the successful Candidate must have the following Skills: High, demonstrable level of class Underwriting Technical and Product knowledge including wordings Skilled application of such knowledge Understanding of our binder parameters, reinsurance restrictions, underwriting guide, standards and procedures A working knowledge of the law as it relates to insurance An in-depth Farm/Motor product knowledge Understanding of the FCA compliance requirements Proven experience to understand and anticipate customer needs Strong negotiation skills Capable of working to tight deadlines and work under pressure High level of working accurately and consistently Developing self and others Effective communication skills both written and verbal Excellent team skills How to apply: To apply for this role, please forward you’re CV in confidence quoting reference 6411.
