Overview
A Server and Storage (Infrastructure) Manager is required for our client based in Northallerton, for an initial 6 month contract. Main responsibilities - Lead a team of highly skilled Infrastructure Engineers maintaining a combination of physical, virtual and cloud computing technologies for the organisation to improve performance within agreed parameters. Providing subject matter expertise for end-user computing services including Windows 10 and Office 365. Contributing to the infrastructure strategy for IT to deliver to the evolving and growing demands of the organisation. Development and implementation of IT infrastructure security processes and compliance requirements. Providing subject matter expertise within supplier management process to ensure operational delivery of the infrastructure to ensure it provides the business with available, scalable and flexible platforms that are robust, available and fully supported. Building relationships with infrastructure partners and vendors to maximise service offerings within cost parameters. Manage the provision of professional advice, both through the resources within the team and as a senior adviser, to the senior management team. Evaluates and makes recommendations/decisions on technical options as appropriate, actively contributing to organisation's technical strategies. To be responsible for ensuring the change management process are adhered to in regards to infrastructure services. Identify, resolve and prevent existing and future system issues, ensuring appropriate provision is made to ensure that the disaster recovery requirements of system are satisfied. Investigating and resolving any problems arising with systems which are infrastructure related. Ensuring the delivery, availability and integrity of infrastructure services through service improvement or new solution implementations. Essential Deep technology skills across a broad range of topics. Proficient in infrastructure technologies including virtualisation, cloud, networking and security. Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, SCCM, Virtual Apps and Desktops application delivery. Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 & Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014/2016. Strong technical background, particularly DBA, with in-depth understanding of a broad range of technical concepts and architectures within complex multiplatform environments. Possesses a good level of management skills and used to working to standard contracting procedures, KPI and SLA service delivery standards. Proven experience of line managing and providing leadership to ICT engineering staff. Strong demand management skills to ensure ongoing support of systems is conducted in parallel with project work in regards to all matters infrastructure. Educated to Degree level in a Computing/Software/Technology related subject, or equivalent or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. ITIL Foundation or above, with proven experience in configuration management, release management and testing processes. Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, presentation and team working skills are essential Desirable Prince2 Practitioner. ITIL Practitioner or above. TOGAF. ILM - Leadership and management level 3 or above Previous experience in a policing environment advantageous.
