Locum Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist

Seven HealthCare is looking for a Locum Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist starting ASAP in Ascot, Berkshire to cover maternity. This role will be for 1 year until March 2021. The role: My client in Ascot, Berkshire are seeking a confident and experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to work within a specialist school as part of an interdisciplinary team providing speech and language therapy input to clients with acquired brain injury. To liaise with internal and external professionals, family members and clients. Key Responsibilities: - To work as an independent clinical professional with knowledge and skills, problem solving and clinical reasoning in a specialist area. - To manage, with support and supervision, and prioritise a caseload of clients with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour - To use evidence based/client centred principles and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention - To facilitate complex discharge packages of care and give advice and information to other disciplines and agencies. - To contribute to the training and development of others when required. - To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Speech and language therapy Services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects. - To supervise other members of staff, eg Rehabilitation Support Workers) in carrying out the programmes the Speech and Language Therapist has devised - To assess and monitor the client's need for equipment or communication aids and the provision of this Applicant Requirements: Qualifications: Degree in Speech and Language Therapy Experience: 2 years working as an SLT Previous experience and/or a real interest in supporting children with autism Compliance: Up to date HCPC registration and DBS. Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
