A leading defence contractor is requiring a Cyber Security Engineer to be based in Christchurch, Dorset on an initial 12 month contract. Security Clearance requirements This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of our military information systems, building close working relationships with our customer and security communities, whilst maintaining a thorough knowledge of cyber threats and standards to support complex systems. Key Responsibility Areas - Taking the cybersecurity lead on projects, including secure infrastructure and front-line deployed products, deployed across multiple security domains, at all levels of classification, for MOD and other customers. Performing security risk assessments following recognised methodologies such as HMG IAS 1 & 2, and identifying suitable risk treatment controls, for all stages of the engineering lifecycle. Working closely with the designers on a number of internal and external projects throughout the UK. Liaising with and providing cyber security advice to the customer security community such as Accreditors and Security Assurance Coordinators. Ensuring our systems achieve security accreditation. Assessing the impact to security of all changes proposed to the systems and what needs to be done to maintain security assurance. Scoping and managing testing by external penetration test companies. Producing security documentation such as RMADS and SyOPs. Your skills and qualifications as a Cyber Security Engineer: Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering or information security discipline. Expertise in the Accreditation processes. Demonstrable experience of identifying security risks and application of appropriate and realistic controls. Experience of working across multiple projects delivering Cyber Security solutions. Ability to travel to different sites throughout the UK to enable the completing of tasks to meet project needs. Experience of cyber security IA Engineering delivery in the defence arena. Role paying £55.00 per hour LTD based on a 37 hour week.
