Overview

The Technology Renewal Centre Production Manager is a key member of the site leadership team and is responsible for implementing the operation strategy. As a proven people leader, the Production Manager will have the ability to recognise and develop talent. This will be done whilst ensuring continuous improvement in plant performance. Key Accountabilities To manage, develop and lead the Team through all aspects of operations, competence and development To ensure the team complies with company and legal standards (safety, quality, housekeeping, environment, security) Delivers the Operational strategy and plan and uses their team to ensure continuous improvement activity is in place to drive year on year improvements across both Manufacturing and Quality People Demonstrate visible leadership for the teams, creating an empowering culture to build a high performing team Ability to communicate and lead a compelling and inspired vision for the teams in line with the site Operations vision and strategy Work cross functionally to ensure a culture of continuous improvement becomes commonplace Regularly review working practises, developing a personal knowledge of the products and production issues in order to facilitate more flexible working and labour optimisation, as well as understanding and ownership of the operational issues Functional / Operational Excellence Ensure total area compliance and lead product quality with all applicable corporate and legal standards (personal safety, quality, housekeeping, environment and security) Delivery of the KPIs to achieve the site business plan (safety, quality, service, cost, people and projects) ensuring accurate performance reporting across the area Commitment to continuous improvement across the area to make year on year improvements versus plans and targets Knowledge, Skills And Experience Essential : Experienced in managing people. Exposure to continuous improvement and can demonstrate a sound understanding of the manufacturing processes. Numerate with ability to understand how to make improvements which influence company profitability. Understanding of P&L to gross margin level. Desirable : Previous experience of the processing/manufacturing industry in a senior site of area lead capacity Any Other Requirements : Must have flexible approach to work, be able to work on own initiative and be a confident decision maker, able to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
