Overview
A Senior Estimator Job for a Civil Engineering contractor based in Chesterfield Your new company This specialist construction and civil engineering contractor, based close to Chesterfield, is looking for a commercial professional to add to its existing team. Having won several new contracts and successfully expanding their work portfolio they are recruiting for a Senior Estimator to manage the estimating team in South Yorkshire. Your new role You will lead a team and be responsible for its results and business activity. You'll continue to mentor the current Trainee Estimator whilst allocating work across the team and tendering for projects of your own. Your main responsibilities, whilst playing an integral part of their pre-construction team, will be; accurate cost calculating, presentation of bids in line with data obtained, negotiation and re-negotiation of pricing for materials and equipment, work closely with sub-contractors and suppliers and assess any risks to the business on each tender. What you'll need to succeed You will have worked as an estimator in a similar environment concentrating on Civil Engineering projects, including new roads and sewers. You will have the ability to quickly digest tender information, manage a team, demonstrate commercial awareness and adhere to strict deadlines.
