Overview

You’ll join an ever growing, dynamic software company based in Bristol who specialise in developing administration systems for the pensions and benefits industry, with particular emphasis on applications of technology such as workflow, document management and service oriented architectures. As a Junior Application Developer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining their flagship product which will involve implementing new features and enhancements as well as bug fixing issues, as they arise. You’ll be a part of the Application Department, working closely with testers and project managers to ensure new functionality is developed and tested to specification/requirement. This is an exciting, rewarding and varied role, for either a Graduate (with IT related degree) or someone looking to carve out their career in this direction; key tasks, to include: - Write and test code. Analyse user requirements. Design and architect solutions. Document changes made to applications. Communicate with clients and other teams/stakeholders. Have good general IT skills. You’ll need to convey a thorough approach, self motivated and above all be an excellent team worker with good time management and work planning abilities. This is a varied role, working to deadlines and requires a hard worker with an eagerness to learn and willing to go the 'extra mile’. Knowledge in the following areas, is a MUST:- ASP.NET, HTML, Javascript and CSS. Object orientated development in VB.NET or C#. An understanding of SQL Server and relational databases. Source Control (preferably Subversion) Knowledge in the below, would be favourable: - Knowledge or Azure development and DevOps practices Understanding and experience of REST HTTP services/APIs XML/JSON knowledge Financial Services software development This is a great opportunity to work with one of the best whilst furthering your IT and pensions knowledge.
